It looks like there will be some real e***ment when it comes to
finding out who Rookie of the year in 2000 will be.  Vote here now.
Will it be Dale Earnhardt Jr., Matt Kenseth, or Dave Blaney.

I personally think Blaney will surprise everyone.  Gotta remember
Blaney comes from the same open wheel back ground as Stewart and
Gordon.  He has done nothing but get better as the year has went on.

My vote is for Blaney.  If nothing else just to be different.

I think Jr. will have a rookie season comparable to Stewart's this year.  He
has my vote.

Perhaps he should put in an early bid for Tony Stewart's rookie stripes
off of the back of his car.

Anyone who calls a Bodine a "Cue-ball Headed Fool" has my vote.

Its refreshing not to hear, "The AC Delco Chevrolet with those Goodyear
Tires was hooked up good today and its a shame were out but it was one of
them racin' deals"

Plus, I actually drink bud (its a good morning and mid-day beer)

these are the deep analytical reasons I'm picking the 8.

Kenseth has already proved he can race with the big boys.  Jr. drives WC like
he is on a Sunday drive.  I like Blaney but Kenseth will be the Champ.

Well hell, who'd a thought there'd be so many Blaney fans around here?
The quality of readership of the newsgroup is going up  :-)

That said, I think he's a year or two behind DE Jr and Kenseth, and I
think DE Jr will have the best rookie year.  Probably going to be very
interesting in 2002 tho.

John

(been rooting for Blaney for a while now - can't seem to get interested
in his brother's runs in WoO tho)

Daves dad, (Lou Blaney) is still racing Modifieds here in
western ,PA. Had he not missed a race he would have been track champion
at the Lernerville Speedway. I do believe though, that he was the champ
this year at Mercer or Tri-City Speedway. Also , Dale is running in the
AllStar sprint series.

If Roush is serious about the Kenseth team I think Matt
takes ROTY fairly convincingly. If Mark and Jeff are still
the main (only?) focus then no chance.
Jr. will probably do decent though (and probably finish above
the "second-shop" Roush cars).
