Are you sure you're talking about the same page?  The only newer format type
stuff would be a few more ads...probably very necessary due to the bandwith and
number of times that page is accessed.  Useless info?  Everything I've seen
there is quite pertinent and useful.  The Silly Season info and such is less
than one scroll down maneuver after the page loads-if that's such a pain...you
must be a Derrike Cope fan, someone who doesn't want to wait 500 miles/laps to
see how their driver does-you'd just rather watch 5 laps, see the wreck and
know right away that your favorite driver finished in the 40's again.
Jayski isn't doing that page commercially, to the best of my knowledge, he's
doing it as a side hobby and I think it kind of turned into a monster with a
life of its own, I still enjoy checking, in fact it's the second page I check,
right after NASCAR Online.

If Jayski needs to put adds and banners on his page to cover his increasing
costs, I have no problem with that.

There is so much useful information he gathers and posts in a single
web-page, that I just don't care about all that "fluff" as you call it.

Keep up the good work Jayski.

hmmm......don't know what some people want.  I bust my ass on the site
and the guys who run the server have beefed up the server and the
bandwidth 10 fold at least in the last year.  If growth is useless
maybe it is cluncky, whatever the heck that is.  I spent a lot of time
on the new design to make it faster to load and easier to navigate.
Not sure what Rich is looking for but MY opinion is that my site is
nothing but better and I do it on my own free time.  There may be less
rumors now, but I have more resources to check them out and clarify
things.  The advertising banners are necessary to pay the bandwisth
bills and cover the equipment.  I bought a laptop so I could update
the page during vacation in Italy and check my email.  I know I didn't
need to respond to this post, but I wanted to get it off my chest.

Rich, I'll miss you as a reader.

For those of you who want to keep up with Cup check out the new and
improved site:

Some people just don't like change... for example, a local newspaper
changed it's font to an easier to read font a couple of years ago (left the
format the same) and people were screaming for weeks about how the
newspaper has deterioriated to the point where people were going to cancel
their subscription.

Hee, hee, hee.  You bust your ass on the site.....from your laptop
while on vacation in Italy?  Did you have a sponsor for that
trip?  Just teasin'.  :)  Love the new site.  Dig the photos. Crave
your NASCAR rumors.  Would even buy a Jayski's web site
diecast if there were any. :)

Jay,
I personally like the site, contains a lot of good information,
especially on the lastest team news. I use it to fill in my
fantasy pool sheets...

Keep up the good work!

Maybe Rich should design his own site!

|hmmm......don't know what some people want.  I bust my ass....
<snip>
and a lot of poeple do not seem to realize it when they are getting a
good thing. I appreciate the fact that Jayski (and Lynne at unofficial
RYR news page) spend the time and effort every day to do the looking
for me every day at all the various sites out there - so I don't have
to. Their services save me about an hour every day (If I had to surf
around myself).

It takes a lot of work to put a really good site out there. I know. I
put together online stores professionally, and as a hobby, I'm putting
together a site for an historical (hysterical?) organization I belong
to (E Clampus Vitus).

The only thing I claim to be an expert in, is my own thoughts and
opinions, so here's my 2 pennies worth.

Don't go lyin' now Jayski!  The way your readership is climbin'...you ain't
never gonna know he's gone!

People who don't take the time to look around your site don't realize your a
real person with a real job who does this in his "spare" time.

I for one appreciate all the hard work you put in.

I haven't received my post card from Italy yet....but I'm sure its in the
mail!

Jayski obviously has followed the sport long enough to know the fresh
look for the new season is what the pros do. Nice job, attaboy, kudos,
etc. Keep up the excellent work.

Rich, there's only one baitstore on RASN worth a damn.  Directions to
get there are: From turn 2 at Daytona, wait for the flag to drop, and
walk across the track to Lake Lloyd (named for our own Mr. Parker?)
You should find the bait store just on the other side of the berm.
Hope this helps.
