Red Flag Lap 2

Anybody notice that Ernie Irvan 's crew was working on the front of
the car when the camera rolled up? I wonder if NASCAR noticed. That
would be a great big no no!!

Sorry to see a lot of good cars taken out, but it would seem that it
was the drivers not the track that caused this one. Heck even the BGN
guys were smarter than this. Why is it that they can go out and race
and the WC guys come here and wreck like crazy one the first lap? The
BGN guys had wrecks but no more than usual.

I noticed that virtually EVERY crew shown staring at a wrecked car was
working on it during the red flag period! What gives?

Also...was Earnhardt ever penalized for heading down pit road in the
wrong direction? I don't care if he wound up restarting while already
100-odd laps down...people have been killed before by vehicles (race cars
and otherwise) doing precisely this.

Under red flag crews are allowed to prepare a car for inspection/evaluation
to see what's wrong. Not fix anything. What was shown (or at least what i
saw) was the crew removing the front left wheel to see damage under and
inside. The was no "repairs" being made.
