It's always darkest before dawn.
So if you're going to steal the neighbor's newspaper,
that's the time to do it.

In Gibbs' equipment Mark just might shine, especially in the 11 with
Darian Grubb crewing the team...

Well that is interesting...Sadler must be spitting nails.
One presumes FedEx put the kibosh on Sadler subbing.
Unfortunately for Elliott, that's probably the final word
on his ever having a chance to run Cup again, other than
the occasional one-race deal.

It's not like MWR stuff is junk.
They had two cars in the chase last year,
and got a runner up at the end.....

Oh certainly wasn't trying to implicate that MWR equipment is junk, just
the 11 is a notch above...MWR...and a few other top tier teams at the
moment.

And not sure if it was you or another poster that I commented on their
post saying top tier and MWR in the same sentence just a few years ago
would have been laughable.

When I mentioned that, it was supposed to be until
Hamlin returned..
There was a snag in the deal...

Deal for Martin to replace Hamlin blows up
By JENNA FRYER
Mar. 29 6:58 PM EDT

C***TE, N.C. (AP) A deal to loan Mark Martin to Joe Gibbs Racing
as a replacement driver for injured Denny Hamlin fell apart Friday,
when Michael Waltrip Racing said Martin will fulfill his commitment to
their team.

It's believed a deal between the teams to swap Martin for Vickers in
the Sprint Cup Series races had been completed, but JGR prematurely
announced it before MWR sponsor Aaron's had given its approval. No
reason has been given why Aaron's didn't approve the swap.

Vickers will take over at Texas.

Sounds like the snag was nobody remembered to ask Aarons
if they were OK with changing all their ads (I kinda
suspect Mikey might have forgotten he's not the star in
the ads any longer).

It's still interesting that Vickers is considered a more
desirable choice than Sadler.

I have not (because I am not really "that" interested)
checked the schedules... is the possibility in the logisitcs?
Are some of the Nationwide races not companions?

LOL, I wasn't that curious either, until you mentioned it.
Now I gotta find out...

Looks like all the Nationwide races are companion events
up to the Iowa race in June.  So Sadler shouldn't have any
conflicts.

Back when Sadler moved from Childress to Gibbs it was widely
thought the reason was that he had no chance at a Cup ride
at Childress (because any open seat would go to the Dillon
boys).  It's looking like he has no chance of a Cup ride at
Gibbs, either.
