Its the best when they just show the announcers with no cameras on the race. BP
is holding a steering wheel, talking about Steve Park and there is a green

At least they know how to position their cameras. FOX totally sucked in
this catagory, in my opinion. Sometimes, it was difficult to tell if you
were looking at the frontstretch or the backstretch when they were zoomed in
on a car. Also, NBC doesn't use those annoying slow-motion replay cameras,
either. Oh well, we've got seven years for improvement (I think).

One thing I didn't like was coming back from a End of Race commercial and
finding Burton already standing outside of his car in Victory Lane thus
missing the initial celebration. That was bad timing and programming on
their part.

i love the commercials every 5 minutes. i think i saw the same commercials 6
times. as soon as i would sit down it was time for a commercial again. great
work there. thanks also for rambling about the track and Steve Park as green
flag racing was going on. that's some great coverage. and if i have to hear BP
say 'i'm sorry' again for some mis-statement i'm going to scream. thanks TNT.
bring back Fox and DW.

I read an article in a race magazine not long ago that said Fox , NBC ,ABC
,ESPN etc, use the same camera crews , that was kind of obvious when they
were talking about the camera guy (Corky I think his name was) has been
doing NASCAR camera work for 13 years. Considering this is the first for
fox. Just a thought...

They did ok, but I hate those damn bubbles with the numbers above the cars.
What's that all about, I can see the number on the car I don't need the
bubble to tell me what it is.

Well since it is a sport, much of their money comes from the commercial
licensing and such. And I agree it is orchestrated as you can see it on
most races. The driver asks if it is time to exit the car in Victory Lane
to do his dance. Without the TV audience there wouldn't be the crowds in
the stands.
But thats business.

I was at a friend's house. Instead of sitting through the entire commercial
break I would go outside and enjoy the fresh air until the race was back. Then,
I would sit back down and it would be commercial time. It was ridiculous.

Exactly. Sorry I misread your gripe. You understand the situation,
you're just mad that they blew it yesterday!, that they let him out
of the car before they were back from break. I appreciate your
honesty, there may be hope for this place yet! LOL

NBC/TNT started off a bit shakey but over the last few weeks they've
had the best NASCAR coverage I can ever remember seeing.

Ahhh - my number one complaint with TV coverage these days. I hate those
damned bubbles too. This week I paid attention to when they used them, and
it was always (or very nearly always) when the cars were big enough on the
screen to see the numbers without the silly bubbles. All the bubbles did
was hide the car. I wished they'd can those - who needs technology just for
the sake of technology? If it doesn't add something then can it. Damn...
there I go on a rant.
