USA: Starting Line-ups?

USA: Starting Line-ups?

Has Bora made the announcements as to who will start for USA-Columbia?
I hear from the Cap Cities Gang (ABC, ESPN, ESPN2) that he is
enigmatic, refusing to reveal his hand to press or players until
right before the game.  Well, frankly, I just don't believe the
Cap Cities Gang.  This does have the ring of truth though.  More
generally, I note that there is a real dearth of what I would
call real information from the commentators.  They just say,
Columbia will come out mad...USA will have to mark more closely.
Duh...I never hear an interview with someone saying what US
or opponent strategy will be, who will play, whether there are
injuries, the odds...
As for all this Meola and Dooley
bashing (I engaged in the latter), no one has said, Meola said ...
about the wall on the bad goal...no one asked Dooley if the heat
effected him or whether he should have used his left foot on the
goal opportunity.  Its just a total desert of info on the TV.

Word is that the US will start the same lineup as they did against Switzerland.
This could be serious trouble if Kooiman is in again and gets beat as often
as he did against the Swiss.  This is one player that I cannot understand
being in the starting 11 or the 22 for that matter.

It seems that Dooley just had one of those nightmare games.  Maybe jitters.
MEola was quoted as saying that he had the wall setup and then the referee
moved it back.  When he tried to set it again, the wall could not hear
him because of the noise.

One can only hope that the US midfield comes to play tonight and that if
Kooiman starts he actually plays.

Meola wrote a column for the 94 Cup Daily (in which lots of rss'ers
were quoted, sounded cogent).  He said that after the wall was moved
by the referee he wanted to make some adjustments but couldn't get
Alexi's attention.  Then a Swiss player cut across the box, grabbing
his attention and making him freeze.  He didn't see the kick until it
was virtually on top of him.

Hope this is the kind of info you are looking for,

James
