Hard time awaits Galatasaray in Moscow...

Post by Absolut Yalin Karadogan » Sat, 04 Dec 1993 02:25:30

Thanks to the Turkish Football Federation who made Galatasaray play 2
games a week in the last month, now Galatasaray is facing an incredible
amount of injuries, the last one being Falco Gotz (injured in the
Barcelona game), the key-defender of the team.  And also, the striker
Kubilay Turkyilmaz is not going to play (yes, the Kubilay who scored 2
goals in the net of the best goalkeeper in Europe) because of the two
yellow cards he had.  The players are tired, Hakan Sukur can't play
without injections to relieve the pain he has, Stumpf is always hurting
SOMEwhere etc...
A really hard time awaits Galatasaray in Moscow, but I'm sure it's
nothing they can't handle...
Thank you....YALIN

As far as I remember no English champion had ever been eliminated before
this year...:-)

It is easy to complain about injuries and tough scedule instead of facing
the real facts.  Someone posted the table of Galatasaray achievments in
EuroCups, and one could easily see that no Soviet/Russian team had ever
been eliminated by Galatasaray.  On the contrary, the Turkish team had
always lost to Soviets.  I hope that this pattern will continue this year.

Go Spartak!!!

Michael Martynov.

As far as I remember the champion of England had never been eliminated by
Turkish team before 1993 ... :-)

In 1968, Fenerbahce eliminated Man. City, but I have no idea which
European Cup it was.

As a Galatasaray fun, I really don't think that Galatasaray will
do better in Moscow, since the forward Kubilay Turkyilmaz and
defence player Falco Goetz are away from the team till February 1994.
My hope is the game be tied in Moscow.
