I've been watching liverpool since i was seven.....and i have stuck to
them through highs and lows, altthough mainly highs...but since the
early 90's it's been low ever since and last nite match was another nail
into my heart.

there were so many questions i had for evans when i saw the line-up. why
is he still playing both james and fowler????? although james is at no
fault for the 2 goals, he was bad during the last few matches, why
doesn't he give friedel a chance after so much trouble? fowler's every
touch is sloppy, he can't control it, give him a break and bring on
riedle, he can't do any worse compared to fowler's performance last nite
and he's good in the air. and what the hell is bjornebye doing on the
left side of midfield???? berger played like shit, he's been demanding
for a first eleven place, based on last nite performance, he's not worth
a place in the bench. i think liverpool's best player in the match was
ince.

i'm seriously doubting evans's tactical abilities, so many tactical
mistakes and he still got it wrong, u would have thought he had learned
after the PSG match last season or the strasbourg match. Maybe he too
soft or afraid to drop players, he's afraid to make them unhappy?? I
believe he has to be ruthless, what's the use of having a large squad
then?? i cannot believe he did not give murphy a chance.

my present liverpool team would be like this, excluding the injured :

friedel
jones
matteo
ruddock(at least he wear his heart on his sleeve)
harkness
mcmanamam
kennedy(long due?)
ince
murphy
owen
riedle

comments??

A lot of your arguments are valid.  Although Berger has been asking for
a first team spot he belongs on the opposite side of the field.  Does
Evans realize it would be smarter to put the fellow with the good left
foot on the left side and the one with the good right foot on the right
side.  These are the kinds of things a manager ought to be able to figure
out.

Also, even though James wasn't directly responsible for last nights goals,
a major part of a keeper's job is to instill confidence in the defenders
and to direct them during the game.  This is the place I see Friedel having
an advantage as he commands defenders well in games.  I am not saying
he is the answer to Liverpool's problems but I don't think it could hurt
to at least give him a chance.

I thought Ince was shite. He's supposed to add leadership
and experience to the team, but what does he do? He makes
stupid fouls and gets into arguments with opponents.

Evans seems to have no idea what to do when key players
hits a drop in form. We saw that last season with James,
and we see it now with Fowler. He just fields them week
after week, resulting in lost confidence for the player,
and lost points for the club.

3 years ago, Liverpool had a good team with a core of
young stars (Fowler, McManaman, Redknap, James), and it
was expected that a new great side was coming. But for
the past 3 seasons, Liverpool have been stagnent.

Evans did some good when he took over the club, but it's
now very clear that he can't take the club any further
and should step down after this season.

watch evans' comment at anfield.merseyworld.com.....makes my ***
boil....i think and i'm quite certain it's not only my thinking
that he's got it all wrong.......why do we have to play wingbacks last
nite when we shld have been imposing ourselves on them...rather than
doing a containment job. if i was the opposition.... ...jones or
bjornebye 'marauding' down the flanks doesn't exactly strike fear to
me...isn't it?????.........when he wants to play wingbacks....kennedy
would be an interesting option...he has pace and can cross....

absolutely.......the present bunch are a disgrace to the past years
liverpool squad......with a few exceptions......in my opinion...the
whole defence shld be given the boot except matteo, babb and harkness.
carragher better off playing in the midfield when ince is gone.
i'm still not over last nite's results....evans for the
boot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

at least he was trying to win the ball back...which other player was
doing that????? and i think the referee's thinking of his reputation
when he booked ince...it was a 50-50 ball........

u are so rite...it makes the other players disheartened too when they
are playing well while the others let them down.

i think we need a few players at the back and one more experienced
striker.....drop james and fowler now.......make them work on their
confidence....but i think why evans is sticking to fowler is because he
has not sign the contract yet...he's afraid to make him unhappy and thus
fowler might leave after his contract is up...what do u think????

he has the players..maybe one or two more to make it compete with man u
but his tactical abilities leave a lot to be desired.....PSG,
Strasbourg......sticking with his fave 3-5-2......get a continental
coach.....new ideas and all.....

evans : if u are reading this.....u are making the fans sick!!!!!
