DENMARK
28 of 33 rounds complete

Brondby         61 (73)
- - - - - - - - - - - -
FC K?benhavn    59 (71)
Aalborg BK      48 (60)
-----------------------
Odense BK       46 (58)
FC Midtjylland  45 (57)
Akademisk BK    41 (53)
Esbjerg         41 (53)
Viborg          37 (49)
Silkeborg       28 (40)
Vejle           27 (39)
-----------------------
AGF ?rhus       25 (37)
Lyngby FC       14 (29) RELEGATED?

Another league I forgot was playing today.  Brondby and K?benhavn both
won, securing a European slot for both.

Vejle's position is tenuous, depending on an appeal of a 4-0 AB victory
which was awarded 3-0 to Vejle; reverse that award, and Vejle stands in
the relegation zone.  Cup final 09 MAY, K?benhavn-Odense at Parken.
(Thanks to David Tiemroth.)

8 rounds left in the second tier.  Karum and K?ge are 5 points up on
third-placed Frem, and 6 up on 4th-placed S?nderjyl.

ENGLAND

Changes today: Boston promoted to the League.

GERMANY

Bayern Munich       65 (68) CL

Hertha Berlin       61 (64) UEFA Cup 1

---------------------------
Werder Bremen       56 (59)
FC Kaiserslautern   56 (59)
VfB Stuttgart       47 (50)

Energie Cottbus     35 (38)
Hansa Rostock       34 (37)
FC Nurnberg         31 (34)
---------------------------
SC Freiburg         27 (30) RELEGATED
FC Koln             26 (29) RELEGATED
FC St. Pauli        22 (25) RELEGATED

Well, I guess next week is pretty pointless.

Unless, of course, you're one of the top three, or Bremen or FCK...

2.Bundesliga
33 of 34 rounds complete

Hannover 96          72 (75) CHAMPIONS, PROMOTED
Mainz 05             64 (67)
Arminia Bielefeld    62 (65)
----------------------------
VfL Bochum           62 (65)
Greuther Fuerth      59 (62)
Union Berlin         53 (56)
Eintracht Frankfurt  53 (56)
LR Ahlen             48 (51)
SSV Reutlingen       44 (47) RELEGATED - NO LICENSE  (Sven, I get this
one right?)
MSV Duisburg         43 (46)
Waldhof Mannheim     42 (45)
Alemannia Aachen     40 (43)
Oberhausen           39 (42)
Unterhaching         38 (41)
----------------------------
Karlsruher SC        38 (41)
Schweinfurt 05       24 (27) RELEGATED
Saarbrcken          22 (25) RELEGATED
Babelsberg 03        17 (20) RELEGATED

Mainz pissed away a chance to secure promotion today, and now they have
to either get a result AT Union Berlin, or hope Bielefeld or Bochum
***it up.  Fuerth is still alive only on goal difference; they're -3
to Bielefeld, giving them a small chance to make that up, and they're +7
on Bochum.

Nobody's secured promotion from the Regionalliga yet.

GREECE
25 of 26 rounds complete

Olympiakos    55 (58)
AEK Athinai   55 (58)
- - - - - - - - - - -
Panathinaikos 52 (55)
PAOK          48 (51) UEFA CUP 1
Xanthi        39 (42) UEFA CUP 1
---------------------
Iraklis       35 (38)
Panionios     34 (37)
OFI           33 (36)
Aris          29 (32)
Akratitos     23 (26)
Aigaleo       23 (26)
Ionikos       22 (25)
---------------------
Ethnikos      17 (20) RELEGATED
Panahaiki     15 (18) RELEGATED

Matches were moved from today to 08 MAY, apparently.  Olympiakos is at
Aris, while AEK is home to PAOK.  Forget Panathinaikos; they'd have to
score an assload of goals.  Then again, they ARE away to Ethnikos...
Actually, I'm not sure about that relegation line; Riku's site seems to
indicate they're expanding the Ethniki to 16 teams, as he's only showing
one team in relegation and three in promotion.  If that's the case,
Panahaiki may have an edge, as they're away to Ionikos.

AEK won the Cup over Olympiakos, so the UEFA line is actually one lower
than above... which only matters to Iraklis, Panionios, as Xanthi would
be through regardless.  Well, it's also relevant to OFI... because
Iraklis host Panionios on 08 MAY, and OFI have an edge on Iraklis on
goal difference.

Second tier's effectively done, two games left which don't matter:

Giannina        51       CHAMPIONS; PROMOTED
Kalamaria       47 [+19] PROMOTED?
Kallithea       47 [+18] PROMOTED?
------------------------
Proodeytiki     47 [+11]
Athinaikos      40
Panserraikos    36
Patraikos       34 (37)
Olympiakos_V    33
Halkidona       31 (34)
Paniliakos      29 (32)
Kalamata        29
Apollon         28
------------------------
Panaigialios    21       RELEGATED
Agios_Nikolaos  17 (20)  RELEGATED

HUNGARY
at the split

MTK Hungria    64
Zalaegerszeg    61
Ferencvrosi    59
Dunaferr        47
Videoton        46
jpesti         44
------------------
Matv Sopron    40
Gy?ri ETO       38
Kispest-Honvd  38
Debreceni       36
Halads-Milos   35
Vasas           27

I don't have any details on the playoffs, other than knowing who's 1-6
and who's 7-12, so...  Needless to say, they're a ways from being
finished.

continued...

Yes, but they appealed at the DFL, so it's not a done deal yet. Only to
90+ percent. ;)

Last games:

Bielefeld - Ahlen
Frth - Hannover
Union - Mainz
Aachen - Bochum

Close thing...

Here's the top of the tables (first two get promoted):

North
                G       Pts     GD
Braunschweig    31      58      30 (Brunswick, were champions in 67)
VfB Lbeck      30      58      21 (relatively big amateur club)
RW Essen        30      56      23 (Champions in 55, Cup Winners in 53)
Wattenscheid    30      51      10 (played a few years BL in 80s/90s)

South

Burghausen      31      61      26 (never done anything)
Eintracht Trier 31      53      16 (well known amateur club)
Wehen           31      53      9  (never done anything)
Regensburg      30      51      17 (a few years 2nd league in the 70s?)
Kick. Offenbach 31      49      8  (Cup winner in early 70s)
RW Erfurt       31      48      13 (fromer GDR club with some success)

Potential prominent clubs fighting relegation:

Fortuna Dsseldorf: Twice cup winner in the late 70s, lost the CWC 79 to
Barca 3-4 aet, are as good as relegated if license denials of other
clubs don't save them.

1. FC Magdeburg: Former GDR club with some titles there and the CWC 74
(with a 2-0 over Milan). 2 Points clear of relegation.

(both in RL Nord)

Aachen were truly dire at Unterhaching yesterday (2-0 final, should have
been more), but are nevertheless saved, since Unterhaching play in
Karlsruhe next weekend.  Karlsruhe got into that position by losing in
Mannheim by 2-1.  Oberhausen are also saved, since they have goal
difference advantages against both Unterhaching and Karlsruhe:

    12 Alemannia Aachen   33 12 4 17 40:64 -24 40
    13 RW Oberhausen      33 10 9 14 51:48   3 39
    14 SpVgg Unterhaching 33 10 8 15 40:46  -6 38
    15 Karlsruher SC      33 10 8 15 42:51  -9 38

Both Unterhaching and Karlsruhe are also saved if Reutlingen lose their
appeals process (the latter would go to the last place in the table).

If Bielefeld are promoted, they will set a record with this as their 6th
time!

Bochum would break this record in... Wait... Up/Down - Up/Down - Up/Down
- Up/Down (or were they promoted 4 times already?) - 8 Years. Maybe 10
if they don't get each time promoted immediately. :)
