Wenger to push for Eto'o swap deal if Henry does actually want to go?

According to "rumours", yes, more rumours, Wenger will refuse to
sanction the sale of Henry to Barca unless Barca agree to offer Eto'o
in exchange. Whilst this could be more BS, it certainly would make
good sense from Arsenal's perspective if indeed Henry does want to go
Barca. If Henry goes, Arsenal will need a replacement striker, and a
WC one at that - Eto'o certainly fits the bill. I'm sure Wenger would
push hard for the best possible deal for Arsenal, and clearly that
would include Eto'o. if Arsenal got a straight cash deal for Henry,
which WC striker could they use the cash for to replace Henry? No-one
is available. The only stumbling block to such a deal would be that
Eto'o has been talking about how much he wants to play upfront with
Henry at Barca, so clearly he assumes he'll be staying and that Henry
will join him there.

On the other hand Wenger talking to Barcelona could just as easily be him
trying to bring Eto'o to Arsenal so that he can play alongside Henry. If we
put this story about enough someone will probably publish it as a fact.
Ashley Cole never spoke with any Chelsea representatives whilst under
contract to Arsenal. He said it on numerous occasions and so did Peter
Kenyon and Jose Mourinho. Oh yes I forgot that was all a big fat lie. Just
because someone says Wenger met with Barcelona officials to discuss the sale
of Henry doesn't make it true. Maybe it is, but until there is an official
announcement then nobody, other than the persons present, or not present,
know the real facts.
