Dear soccer fans,

Would anyone in U.K. (or elsewhere), please tell me if Liverpool is going
to have a new-designed jersey in the coming year. I have seen a new design in
Hong Kong and the shopkeeper told me that it is for next year. It is a red one
with a white neck. There are three strips on both shoulders. The word "Carlsberg" is in the middle, under the Liverpool badge. It looks nice. Could you please
tell me how much it costs. Moreover, are the old Liverpool jerseys out of stock,
I mean the red one and the white one with green strips on both sides of the
shirt body. Please tell me their prices too.

     Thank you very much.  :)

There is a new strip.  I cannot describe it in detail, but it has less white
in it than this year's strip.  The new one is selling at 35 - 37 pounds
for the shirt, don't know about the rest.

I did see one store with old shirts left at a saving of about 10 pounds.

It is mainly red, with the crest in the normal place, Carlsberg still the
sponsors, and it has a couple of thin white stripes down either shoulder.
In fact, it looks rather like the late 80s kit, from what I remember.
However the really offputting bit of it, is that it is made out of some
revolting air-tex type material and looks like a string vest.  Other than
that ...

But a warning to all concerned, you really can't appreciate *quite* how
revolting it is from a photograph.  In fact, in a photograph, it actually
looks quite *nice*.  However once you see it close up (on a sweaty 16-stone
beer gut who smells of stale ale and fags) and can see the material, you may
understand my concern ... you have been warned.

It is the spitting image of the jersey first worn in the 1976-77 season with
a few additions. There are three Adidas white stripes on the shoulder, the
badge is now very elaborate and is actually sewn onto the jersey. The V-neck
collar has three very narrow stripes of red, black and yellow down the
middle. The stripes on the shoulder are OK but the material they're made
of isn't. It looks like they cut up a string vest and stitched it on the
the shoulders. It's ugly as sin. They ought to use a less holey looking
material.
Although this strip is OK it really shows a lack of imagination by the
designers when they could do no better than to rehash a 1970s strip. It's
not even an anniversary next year so one wonders why this idiotic attempt
to recreate the past.
Liverpool are the team of the 90s and the 2000s they really ought to look
better than the kit they have for next season.
Having said that, I will probably buy the new jersey meself.

Most shops in the UK are selling them for 34.99 quid.
