I'd have to agree with most of the comments made in this newsgroup
recently regarding Dennis Bergkamp.  It is widely reported that he
and Sosa do not get along well at all, and that must have something
to do with their lack of success this season.  Bergkamp is a great
talent, but he hasn't been able to regularly display his top form
in Serie A.  However, it must be said that one of the main reasons
Inter won the UEFA Cup last season was Bergkamp's tremendous play
in that competition.  Here's hoping he finds his way through these
troubles and stays with Inter.

On a related topic:  Sad to say, I have to agree with those who
feel that the "Golden Age" of the Italian League is over.  There's
no question that the level of play in Serie A is down this year.
I only wish I was able to see some Spanish League (or English, or
French, or Dutch, or German, or Scottish :-)) matches as a means
of comparison!

My good friend, I think you are speaking far too soon.  First of all Inter and
Milan took both UEFA and the Champions Cups respectively, also Parma was
in the Cup Winners Cup last year.

The last time I looked there was 4 Italian Teams in the UEFA Cup Third Round,
Sampdoria looks positioned well in the Cup Winners Cup and Milan has been
written off far too early. All they have to do is beat Salzburg and they are
through the round of 16.  I wouldn't be so quick to lament about the decline
of Italian Calcio.  What's going to take its place....."The Premiership".  I
don't think so.
