Fever, Wolves Win Two

The New York Fever won two games this weekend over the Ft. Lauderdale Kicks and
Delaware Wizards.  On Saturday night, goals from Mickey Kydes and Seamus ***
led the Fever to a 2-0 win over the Wizards.  On Sunday, the Fever got a 4-2
decision over the Kicks on three goals from Roger Chavez and one goal from
Jorge Acosta.  Inverarity and McKnight scored for Ft. Lauderdale.  The
Connecticut Wolves also won two this weekend, the first coming on Friday night
with a 1-0 corner kick decision over the Philadelphia Freedom.  With the game
tied after overtime, the corner kick totals and the decision went to the Wolves
(6-3).  On Saturday the Wolves came back from a 2-0 deficit to beat the Cape
Cod Crusaders 3-2.  The Wolves hero was John Maessner who scored his second
goal and the game-winner with less than a minute left in the game.  Gary
Crompton scored both Crusaders goals.  The Crusaders then exacted a little
revenge on Sunday with a 3-0 win over the Long Island Rough Riders.  Ron
Murphy, Jim Prouty and Roberto Beall scored in the win.  Long Island was coming
off of a 2-1 victory over the Boston Storm, thanks to the corner kick decider
in their favor.  The game was tied 1-1 after overtime on goals from Daniel Leon
for Long Island and Mike Masters of Boston.  The Philadelphia Freedom came out
on the short end of a 2-1 loss to the visiting Richmond Kickers on Saturday.

Freedom goal.  The Jersey Dragons defeated the Delaware Wizards 1-0 Friday with
the lone goal coming from W. Bustamante for Jersey.  Saturday, the North Jersey
Imperials started the Florida sweep with a 1-0 victory over the Ft. Lauderdale
