Lizarazu retires from France national side

Marseille left-back Lizarazu has confirmed his retirement from the French
national side.

"It's a painful decision. 12 years is a long time, it's a lot of things, a
big part of my life," he said.

"With Lilian Thuram I share the idea that we have to step aside for the
other players aiming at 2006.

"Now I need more time for my personal life and notably my son. Moreover I
have a fabulous challenge with l'OM and I would like to balance my
professional and personal areas."

"Le basque bondissant" has played for les Girondins de Bordeaux for many
years. He entered the legend with Zidane and Dugarry when they beat
Milan AC in 1996 (0-2 , 3-0). The past two years he was less efficient
so his retirement is not really a surprise. I think he is the best left
back we had in France since Manuel Amoros.

Now it's time for Evra to show us his skills.

yeah! along with Djibril Ciss and Ludovic Giuly we missed a lot last
June. You know this is a kind of player that litteraly explode when he
get the ball. Very useful when you can't find any solution to break
through a defense.

I was _very_ impressed with the young arsenal leftback last season. Gael
Clichy.

You don't seriously think Domenech would call someone who has played 655 mn
(it makes 7 games and 25 mn) of league games in his whole life ?

it's Clichy

the end of this season ....
He was as well part of the team who won the Tournoi de Toulon this year
