"A Title without Brilliance or Honor"

Juca Kfoury is one of the most respected Brazilian soccer commentators.
Below is his article with some translation to English:

Ttulo sem brilho nem honra
"A Title without Brilliance or Honor"

"There is something rotten in the kingdom of Denmark. With name, last name and
profession, namely: Kim milton Nielsen, the referee at the Intercontinental
Cup, in Tokyo, played by the prejudiced Boca Juniors and the favored Europeans
of Bayern Munchen."

expulsou injustamente o gremista Rivarola ainda no primeiro tempo, facilitando

"Just like it happened in 1995, when the English referee, Elleray, injustly
expelled the gremista Rivarola in the first half, making life easier for Dutch
side Ajax (which only won in the penalty shoot-out), now it is time for the
Argentinean forward to be expelled without a motive."

"The mediocre Dane considered that Delgado (who missed the easies sit-in of the
game) simulated a penalty foul when, he clearly tripped, so much so that he
immediately stood up after the ball."

terras sax?nicas no time de Munique.

"To make things worse, the referee did not expel the  Brazilian Paulo Sergio,
of Bayern, who committed a criminal act on Riquelme, besides allowing a lot of
disloyal plays be the German squad - something strange for German soccer
tradition, but perfectly understandable in this case when only two players are
actually Germans"

segundo tempo inteiro e boa parte da prorroga??o, gra?as, tambm, pouca
precis?o dos campe?es europeus.

"Boca managed to resist with heroism, just like Gremio against Ajax, during the
whole second half and part of the over time, thanks also to the lack of
precision by the European champions."

"Remember also that in the end of the first half od the overtime, the Frenchman
Lizarazu also dove to get a penalty but, because he was wearing a red jersey,
he did not even get admonished verbally".

primeira conquista diante do Cruzeiro, no Mineir?o.

Pelas chances criadas a vitria seria justa.
conquista alem?.

"For the goal opportunities created by both teams, the victory would have been
fair. But those opportunities only appeared after the calamitous expelling of
Delgado, which wiped out the brilliance and honor of the German conquest".

That's the words of one of Brazil's most respected soccer
commentators?

David.
Besides, I thought you said everyone agreed the red card was OK, it
was the rest of the match they were ***ing about?

I could be wrong, but this isn't the same referee who sent Beckham off
against Argentina in France 98, is it?

Pretty sad isn't it.  I wonder when Irineu is going to stop whinging.
As I predicted in my original post, the whinging is going to be going on
for some time.  It is part of the turf.  Really, really childish this
time.

Yup.

David.
Who won't be surprised if Milton finally gets a WC final next year.

What, you don't expect Denmark to be in the final?

Sure. I expect either Argentina or Brazil to get to the final against
Denmark and the only way UEFA can stop Arg or Bra from winning will be
by assigning a Danish referee.

David.
Hey, why can't a *** theory be *for* someone for once...
