: Missed penalty, missed red cards...

: It's heart breaking to see an average team like Holland make it to the
: quarter finals.....

: How dirty do those Dutch players play...

Before the start of the Cup I was Yugoslavia all the way. But that was
until I saw how selfish the Yugoslavian players really are. It was
disgusting watching such a talented team fall apart against the US
just because every player wanted to have the glory of scoring a goal
Today against the Netherlands it was the same. I'm sad Yugoslavia is
out of the Cup but not for it's players. Maybe next time they'll
learn to pass the figgin' ball near the opposite goal.

Please, Yugoslavia had only two scoring opportunities in the entire
game, including the goal and the penalty.

Ugly and defensive football doesn't pay off.

True words.

It's the same story from the eastern-Europe sides. They bloom in the early stages (not to
mention the qualification matches with poor opposition), and when they play good sides
their ego shows proportionately with their frustration.
Not an old story, really. The Russians have shown the same symptoms in earlier
Championships and never seem to learn.

Netherlands are an average team? Sure wish the USA could be so average!

The Yugoslav players were consistently worse than the Dutch all day in
terms of dirty fouls. How many times were the Yugoslavs yellow-carded? It
seemed like four or five. Perhaps you're thinking of the Bergkamp
incident. Well, if it was intentional, it was pretty bad, and probably
did deserve a red, but I don't know if it was intentional.

And Yugoslavia gave the Mexicans a run for their money in terms of diving
***s today. There were numerous instances where a Yugoslav player was
barely nicked, only to go into complete and utter spasms of crushing pain.
Stojkavic (sp) especially.
