IDLE THOUGHTS
=============
     Anaheim's (7-5) 4-game winning streak and San Diego's (6-6) 3-game
     losing streak both ended as the Sockers swept the home-and-home series
     over the Western Division leader; the Sockers have won the season series
     (3-1) with one game left, and consequently, win the 3rd Annual I-5 Cup
     for the first time, presented to the winner of the season series between
     the two... Washington (7-4) snapped a 2-game losing streak and
     Portland's 2-game winning streak ended on Friday's 5-2 Warthog win...
     Sacramento (7-7) was idle this week but gained a game in the standings
     ...Monterrey (10-4) won their 5th in a row and snapped Houston's (9-6)
     2-game win streak in the battle for first in the East, 10-3...Seattle
     (3-10) shocked Dallas (8-6), 7-6, on Sunday...Detroit (5-7) snapped a
     3-game losing streak with a 6-3 win over Portland (6-8).

teams will advance to the CISL playoffs.  The two division winners
will be ranked 1D-2D based on win-loss records, and the other six teams
will be ranked 3-8 based on win-loss records.  The #1D will face #8,
#2D vs. #7, #3 vs. #6, and #4 vs. #5.  Each series will be a best-of-three
in a 1-1-1 format, with the team with the best record hosting games one and
three (with the exception that a division winner (#1D or #2D) can host games
one and three over a non-division winner team (#3 through #8) with a better
record).

        ## next to team name indicates rank in CISL playoff race.  The
# 5-8 teams will qualify for the playoffs as wild-card teams.
