Wrong again. "West Germany" may have been a commonly used name for it,
but the state's official name is "Federal Republic of Germany" and this
name was introduced in 1949 and did not change for the reunification in 1990.

Anyway, "FRG" lost and has to wait four more years to get the chance back for
a four-peat.

Another Canadian... Not enough that they do not about the basics of
soccer. Now they even share their ignorance about history with us! :-)

There was never a country officially called West Germany. There was and
there IS a country called Federal Republic of Germany. There was another
country called German Democratic Republic, which decided to join the
Federal Republic of Germany in an event wrongly called reunification.

Hence ======> Germany (the Federeal Republic of) has won the cup three
times!
