Is this a shocking upset? I know Real Madrid got all the superstar.
How could they lost by 3 goals?

Seemed to me that Real only started playing in the second half. They
created plenty of chances but Osasuna defended like mandmen and the ref
kept ignoring Real's penalty claims i.e. Beckham continually diving in
the box. They were also unlucky with several shots. It as if they've
been storing up their bad luck and used it up in this match.

Also, you have to complement Osasuna's defence more generally - they're very
hard to score against. Only Valencia have conceded less.

Definitly, you need to give Osasuna credit as well, they may qualify for
the UEFA cup if they keep playing like that.  They have the 2nd best
defence in the league:

Valencia        32      21      6       5       63      21      69
Real Madrid     32      20      7       5       65      40      67
Deportivo La Coruna 32  18      6       8       52      30      60
Barcelona       31      17      8       6       51      33      59
Osasuna         32      11      15      6       35      27      48
Athletic Bilbao 32      13      9       10      42      40      48
Atletico Madrid 32      13      9       10      39      39      48
Malaga          32      14      4       14      44      45      46
Sevilla         32      11      9       12      40      36      42
Villarreal      32      11      8       13      39      42      41
Real Betis      31      9       12      10      38      36      39
Real Sociedad   32      10      9       13      37      43      39
Real Zaragoza   32      10      8       14      36      42      38
*Racing Santander 32    10      9       13      42      51      38
Albacete        32      10      7       15      32      40      37
Valladolid      32      9       9       14      38      47      36
Real Mallorca   32      10      6       16      39      57      36
Espanyol        32      9       4       19      35      54      31
Celta Vigo      32      6       12      14      41      60      30
Murcia          32      3       11      18      25      50      20
*Racing Santander deducted one point for fielding ineligible players

What's amazing is the top two: Valencia and Real both have almost the
same attack (goals scored) yet Real have conceded twice as many as
Valencia!  Well ok, it's not really such a shock...
