[Well? You like, you like? I dare the Sun to hire me! :)]
FULHAM chairman Mohamed Al Fayed has hit out at the quality of refereeing in
the Premiership and pledged to work with the Football Association to improve
the standard.
Fulham's assistant manager, Christian Damiano, has mounted a campaign in
defence of Portuguese striker Luis Boa Morte, who has been sent off twice
and regularly booked for diving.
The midfielder went in referee Steve Bennett's book for a spectacular tumble
over the leg of Charlton captain Graham Stuart in Wednesday's 0-0 draw at
Craven Cottage - and now Al Fayed has revealed his frustration with top
officials.
"Over the course of the season, I have been disappointed with the standard
of refereeing we have seen," he said.
"It is part of my vision, together with Jean [Tigana] and Christian, that we
work alongside the referees and governing bodies in football to benefit
everyone involved in the game - and to protect it for the future."
