Germany-Sweden - another farce!!

Post by giovann » Mon, 26 Jun 2006 02:08:15

Look at the facts:
- Podolski was assigned the 1st goal - it should have been
recorded as an own goal by Sweden (look at other wc matches)
- the Ref does not give a 2nd yellow card to Frings for deliberate
handling of the ball (ref knew that it would have been an expulsion)
- the Ref gives a frivolous 2nd yellow to Lucic and makes the
swedes play with 10
- Sweden misses a penalty

The ref definitely decided the game, even though the Germans were
expected to win.

But Argentina will make sure that Germany falls,  HARD!!

Happy soccer watching.

Hardly the refs fault that Larsson botched it.

It's all a *** wrapped in a plot within an intrigue.

I'm neither German not Swedish, but to be fair the ref did ruin that
one as a contest. There was absolutely no need to send off Lucic.

And what if Lucic had not been sent off?

No, that would be "American whiners with no sense of humour." :-)

Which one of those yellows given to Pope in the Italy-USA group match did
you not like?

Just checking.

No, P. would have scored even without the deflection.

That was IMHO a reflex reaction...but oh well

Lucic was carded earlier. Then he commits a tactical foul stopping a German
attack at the halfway line - worthy of a yellow card. Funny. First you
whine about Frings not getting one, then you whine about Lucic getting the
deserved 2nd yellow.

And that's the ref's fault how?

Yeah, sure the ref decided the game...
Ger 26 shots, SWE 5...

We'll see about that.

No, but I would say the referee was playing to the crowd.  It's the
same old thing - home team gets the tight calls.  Pretty weak ref I
thought - come back old baldy wotnot, the Italian.  He wouldn't succumb
to the crowd...

Cheers

Let it be Anders, it wouldn't have mattered anyway. Today our boys were
on song and yours were not. Be happy that your keeper made the score
stay within respectable bounds.

How did that effect the score or the outcome, genius?  In your mind, if
you score an own goal, does that count in favor of your team?

Judging from his email address, he is from Canada... You know, the
country that wrote the book on ref-based cheating in ice hockey.

As a totally neutral observer, I have to say that Germany completely
outplayed Sweden. Yes, this may be due to Germany playing on home turf,
but that's the objective reality.

So, stop whining. The shots on goal statistic being 26-5 tells the
story.
