I know that you all feel the match was robbed from your beloved team
and looking at certain aspects of the game, it's reasonable to think
that way.

But, I'm not here to argue with you.  I just want to thank you for a
heart pounding and exciting game and fighting to the end, even with a
man down.  Vieri was unbelievable and so was Buffon, who stopped those
crucial shots.

I'm sure there are no words to describe the disappointment you must
feel but be proud of your team and I sincerely wish you guys better
luck in the next WC.

Sincerely,
SL

More frustrated than disappointed.  Maybe the same thing?  I was afraid we'd
see a shootout.  *shudder*

Nice to see someone that saw the match.
Thanks.

Hats off to Korea. You really hussle hard and proved that if at first
you don't succeed try again. You need a touch of luck in this game and
two goals today at a handful of minutes from the end are a result of
luck and hard work.

The real question for Italy, it seems to me, is this: when are you going
to wake up and realize that one goal per game is not going to win a major
championship?  (See semi final, Italia 90; Final, USA 94 (when they
couldn't even do that); final, Euro 2000).  Sure, you can always claim
that you were robbed or the other team was gifted, but. . .it's not quite
the same as scoring two!!!

Well, I saw Italy get a 2nd goal .. and the video analysis on several
telly stations saw it too. Oh yeah, it's only whinging, eh?

Try turning the volume up, and listen for the whistle.

You doubt Tommasi would have managed that goal? Uhm.

Unbelievable .. I'm really surprised by a few comments here ..

Who knows?  A one-on-one is not necessarily a goal.  In Vieri's case a
one-on-none isn't necessarily a goal either.

Hard to argue with that.

You mean when Tomassi waltzed in ten minutes after everyone else had stopped
for the whistle?  At that point in the game, he was likely to get a card for
time wasting, I couldn't believe he was so foolish as to follow through.

Hypothetical whinging, yes. The keeper tried how hard to stop the guy
called for offside from scoring?

He was put through in the first half and missed. Either way, there's
no telling. You could claim that Italy were robbed of a possible goal,
but then, that could be said of any call at any time at any place on
the pitch.

A lot of non-Italians feel the same way.
