This is the live TV game here and rightfully so, I got my fill of
underachieving yesterday.

Like the Juve v Bayern game, this game is dependent on one player, but
for a totally different reason.  If Messi plays, Barca wins.

Aufstellung
Victor Valdes - Dani Alves, Piqu, Bartra, Jordi Alba - Xavi,
Busquets, Iniesta - Pedro, Messi, Villa
Trainer: Vilanova
Sirigu - Jallet, Alex, Thiago Silva, Maxwell - Lucas Moura, Beckham,
Verratti, Pastore - Lavezzi, Ibrahimovic
Trainer: Ancelotti

I dont know who Bartra is?  Should I be thinking FS pick?  Messi is
starting according to kicker.

I think Thiago Silva was a question mark for this game?  I thought
Beckham did quite well in a deep position for PSG, though he seemed to
fade at the end of both half's?

If Messi plays
Barca 2  PSG 0

No Messi
Barca 0-1 Psg

0-0  HT
Barca finished with a chance at the end of the half, but otherwise I
think PSG are doing fine and have looked the more dangerous team in
attack

Quick PSG counter means that Messi will be coming on soon.

Messi was warming up, but I think the injury must be too serious for
him to play?
Oh wait he is coming on now

Messi did not score, but he set it up and Barca have looked better
since he came on

Well, he wasn't even limping when he came off in the first leg, so it
can't be bad.

It's amazing how much his coming in changed the game, though -
especially as he isn't doing that much. The whole team is lifted and
plays better.

That is true.

Now I wonder if Beckham can do the same for PSG coming on with 10
minutes to go?

I think they were fooled by Fabregas' weekend hat trick (and overconfident
as a result otherwise Messi should have started if he could play.

They are much less direct and trying to be precise in buildup now. Way too
helter skelter when Messi wasn't in the match, and that just played into
PSG hands who live for the transitional plays.

Stating the obvious, but Fabergas is no Messi
1-1 FT

You just know that if Robben played in the other game, that Bayern
fans are crying in their Bier now

***ing away goals rule. Another scar on the highly flawed way this
sport is governed.

Hey, you were spot on.

Without Messi, it was 0-1. With Messi, it was 1-0 (probably 2-0 if Messi
played more minutes).

Don't blame governance for this one, lots of people love this rule. It
would probably get voted in in a referendum (because the masses are
stupid).
