Anything being done to prevent NBC from doing this again?

Does anybody know if anything is being done to prevent NBC from
doing this again?

Who has the rights to the next summer games?

NBC has the rights to the next summer games in Australia.  However,
according the reports I've read in the papers, this is probably the last
year that Olympic coverage in the U.S. will be provided on only one
network.  The expectation is that NBC will keep the major events like
track and field, etc. for itself, and farm out other events to cable
network
partners.  So, with any luck, four years from now, viewers will have some
choice as to what events to they want to watch.

Nope.  As far as NBC is concerned, their formula works.  They
*WILL* do this again.  And listening to Ebersol talk in USA Today
and the other papers, he could care less what anyone else thinks
(ditto for John Tesh et al).

NBC has rights to the next three through 2008.

"Them that has the gold makes the rules." NB$ee has the gold -- they make
the rules. Best to forget about the struggle  -- there is no way to win. I
have done a fair number of posts during these Olympics -- I have just
gotten myself upset over something I have no way of influencing. The
Olympics has been ***d right thru the year 2008 -- NB$ee is the
***house  madam.

NBC has rights through 2004.  I think a concerted letter-writing
campaign on our part could make a difference.

Actually, the P-COCK Network has the rights through the 2008 Olympics.
