Hearts for the reserve league cup!!!!!!!
Scottish Premier Results from 10th February
------------------------------------------
Celtic 1 Hibs 1
Dziekanowski 29 Collins 45
Att 25000
Both teams totally lacking in confidence played safe over elaborate
football. The Hibs goal came from an unforced error by Peter Grant who
delivered a short pass to Collins on the half way line. Collins set out
on a run to the edge of the box and lashed the ball high into the net.
Dundee United 1 Aberdeen 1
McInally 57 Mason 10
Att 10533
Five of the last 7 games between these teams at Tannadice have ended in
a draw. So this game lived up to expectations. Lots of midfield play
with the ideas running out as play approached the penalty areas.
Defences on top, as they say.
Heart of Midlothian 0 Dunfermline 2
Jack 42 O'Boyle 81
Att 14204
Hearts much praised strike force have an off-day. Robertson, presented
before the game with Januarys Premier divsion player of the month award,
missed 2 early chances. Hearts continued to make and squander chances
throughout the game. Dunfermlines defensive tactics paid off with a well
taken breakaway goal just before half time. Hearts became more desperate
as the game wore on and Dunfermline delivered a late killer punch.
Nightmare on McLeoud Street - Part ? (I've lost count....)
Motherwell 1 Rangers 1
Arnott 16 Johnstone 75
Att 17647
Ex Ranger, Davie Cooper laid the Motherwell goal on with a perfectly
flighted cross. Rangers came more into the game as the weather
conditions deteriorated. Talking point was a disallowed goal for Rangers
with the ball seemingly crossing the line.
St. Mirren 0 Dundee 0
Att 5010
A grim, dour, tedious, defensive struggle. A game best forgotten.
Rangers go cantering on to the title. Their slip up against Motherwell
meant nothing as Hearts were beaten and Aberdeen drew. 5100 turned up at
Ibrox to see Ian Durrant make his long awaited comeback in a reserve
league cup game against Hearts. The game went to extra time with Durrant
playing right through the 2 hour match. Now for the good news, Hearts
reserves won 7-6 on penalties. Leighton, McClair, Gillespie and Nicol
all call off from Scotlands visit to Italy thsi week. This puts their
world cup selection in jepordy. Good!
