1) The season started promisingly with a 6-1 away win at Everton,
followed up with a 4-1 home win against portsmouth, however this early
season optimism was promtly deflated by a 2-1 loss to ManUtd ...
followed-up by a 4-2 loss to Man City today (who are now owned by arab
billionaires -- and spent over 200million on players over the summer)
2) Wenger on the otherhand stubbornly resists fan-pressure to spend
money, despite having over 40 million in the bank from the sales of
Adebayor & Toure over the Summer & continues to show faith in our
youngsters and current players.
3) It is estimated that it will take us until 2027 (if all goes well)
to pay off the debt incurred by moving to the Emirates stadium in 2005
4) This season sees the return of Eduardo & Tomas Rosicky from long-
term injuries.
5) We haven't won a trophy since winning the 2005 FA Cup against Man
Utd on penalties (and that doesn't look like changing any time soon)

wenger is stubborn but to be honest i think the board are
"encouraging" him not to spend the money - i suspect the
board want the incoming transfer funds to set against debt for the new
stadium.
a shame if that is true - you always seem unlucky with injuries (is it
the physio at arsenal? everyone seems to get injured)
and you've been a little hard done by with results, after a cracking
start to the season. you had the better of play against
united and lost, and now city - manchester has not been a happy
hunting ground. hope you guys get on it soon - i still
reckon that you guys play the best football when you're "on".
unfortunately, united and chelski are better at grinding out
results when not playing great.
fwiw, i do think i will be between chelski and united this season. we
won't miss alonso that much - he *didn't* play when we
beat united 4-1 away, but he *did* play in some of many home draws
that cost us the title last season - he was the one
supposed to unlock defences that come to anfield and park the bus (but
obviously didn't). anyway, rafa was using him in a
different way to his first few seasons with us anyway. no, i just
think there'll be a run of games where we're unlucky with
injuries to either torres and/or gerrard.
all the best,

As for being hard-done by with results, this is also not uncommon for
us. When most teams play well they win, yet when we play well,
anything can happen. I think it is because of our defensive frailties
contrasted with attacking prowess. We look good, and then are suddenly
hit on the counter-attack.
