FA Cup Final Liverpool - West Ham

3-1 on pens

3-3

0-1 Carragher (og)
0-2 Ashton
1-2 Cisse
2-2 Gerrard
2-3 Konchesky
3-3 Gerrard

Penalties:
1-0 Hamann
1-0 Zamora (saved)
1-0 Hyypia (saved)
1-1 Sheringham
2-1 Gerrard
2-1 Konchesky (saved)
3-1 Riise
3-1 Ferdinand (saved)

Good game. I wouldn't have had any complaint had West Ham won. They had
better game plan and execution. Liverpool were only still in it thank
to a miracle strike. So congrat, or comisseration (whichever you
prefer) to any West Ham fan, especially Doan.

Fantastic goal by Gerrard, had to be 35 yards and no keeper in the
world would have stopped it. Dreadful bad luck for West Ham, they
deserved it on the day and have much to be proud about this season.
Where would Liverpool be with Gerrard?

Very little has been said about Reina. He was terrible in the first
half, the socond goal was his mistake and he looked pretty shaky,
resulting in the fluke cross that came the goal. In the end he redeemed
himself in the shootout, he _saved_ three shots, all of them on target.
The second most important player for Liverpool in the Final.

He is a definite improvement on Dudek, and as he matures he will get
better. Understandably he is behind Casillas and Canizares for Spain,
but that might change if he continues to improve for Liverpool in the
coming seasons.

Plenty of traffic in front of him for the second West Ham goal, iirc
the shot made it through about 4 Liverpool players and Ashton was
lightning onto the rebound. Keepers always have trouble when there's
that much traffic.

Great game. If Gerrard has a world cup like that England will go a
long way. Two superb 40 metre balls, the first to Crouch who wasn't
offside and the second to Cisse were incredible.

Not to mention the two goals...

The man is the best midfielder in the world, forget what I said about
Alonso earlier ;)

When you score on an own goal, a goalkeeper drop and a mishit cross,
you really can't complain about your luck.

Congratulations Liverpool, and especially Gerard, surely one of if not
the best player on the planet right now.

Great final, and all credit to WHUFC for an excellent performance and
contribution to a game you couldn't take your eyes off.

But.... LFC should have had it won in normal time if Peter Crouch had
not had a perfectly good goal disallowed.

Looks like Kewell has done his groin again. f...k I was watching the
game in the first half, the pitch was a disgrace, people slipping
trying to change direction, and I was thinking to myself he's going to
do that groin again and he'll be out of the world cup.

one minute into the second half...

ffs. ***ing substandard third world shithole pitches. How hard can it
be to grow some ***ing grass for ***'s sake.

***ing disgrace.

Except that they didnt score a single goal that wasnt a result of luck
or a defensive error.
