Why not split uk UK team in Olympics

During the recent 'What if UK team in the World Cup' someone said
the Olympic squad had to be a UK team. I have heard some people use this

to argue the their should be a UK squad in the World Cup.

However, I dissagree, why do we not break UK up into
England, Scotland, N.Ireland and Wales for the Olympics. Then a
proper representative England (under 23 team) could participate
in the olympics.

Taking the opposite of this....

The reason why there is not a UK team is because the FA's involved do not
want to be seen to be 'comming together' in the eyes of UEFA.  UEFA would
prefer all uk teams to be one. (well i heard this a few years back!)

Surely the real reason there will never be a decent professional
representative UK team at the Olympics is because no clubs would allow their
players (under 21 or otherwise ) to disappear for over a month to some
distant part of the planet and interrrupt either crucial end of season or
start of season games.  The argument about entering or possibly losing the 4
individual country status comes down to the same thing - MONEY
Anyway apart from possibly Giggs would any none English player feature???
