Kansas City, Mo. - The Kansas City Wiz shut out the Colorado
Rapids 2-0 Wednesday night, on goals by Frank Klopas and Uche
Okafor. The Major League Soccer contest drew 8,062 to Arrowhead
Stadium.
Klopas took a pass from Preki some 15 yards out, and
dribbled through the Rapids defense to send the game-winning shot
into the right side of the net.
Okafor, a defender, drilled home the insurance goal after a
4-on-2 counterattack. The setup came on a series of passes from
Mark Chung to Digital Takawira, who fed Okafor for the 10-foot
score.
The Wiz take a three-game winning streak into the MLS All-
Star break, and have 10 wins and 9 losses overall. The loss
snapped a three-game Rapids winning streak, and dropped Colorado
to 8-10 for the season.
