I see, so the team is now taking the 'I did not see it approach'. In
this case they didn't see the league table and Man United walk off with
the trophy.

Nope.

Just that Arsenal are the best team.

And they are.

He explains the reasons why Man Utd won.

Fair comment.

Maybe the players should vote for a "best team" and give out an award or
something. Would this make them feel better? :)

Arsenal were the best team in England this season. But Wenger needs to buy a
few defenders and midfielders who really don't give a toss about skills. Let
Henry, Pires and Ljunberg put them up 2-0 by 20 minutes.. and leave it to
the likes of Adams-clone, DiBiagio-clone and Montero-clone to beat the
living s*** out of the opposing forwards for the next 70 minutes. Arsenal
needs some Scandanvian big guys who will just be there to put in that vital
elbow or just do some surgery on the opposing team. Arsenal were outmuscled
not outskilled.

As for Manchester United... they will NEVER win the champions league again..
as long as I live. Unless they decide to move home, and play along the sides
of Bangkok Bang or Shimuzu S-Pulse. Only then will they win the Asian
Champions League.

Final note on Houllier:
1998: We have a young team.. it will soon nurture into English and European
Champions.
2000: We need a young team.. these players are old.
2002: We have a young team.. it will soon nurture into English and European
Champions.
2004: We need a young team.. these players are old.
2006: We have a young team.. it will soon nurture into English and European
Champions.
2008: We need a young team.. these players are old.
2010: We have a young team.. it will soon nurture into English and European
Champions.
2012: We need a young team.. these players are old.
2014: We have a young team.. it will soon nurture into English and European
Champions.
2016: We need a young team.. these players are old.
2018: We have a young team.. it will soon nurture into English and European
Champions.
2020: We need a young team.. these players are old.

Arsenal just don't give up, do they ? Yes, they played some fantastic
football at some points during the season. Yes, they were touted as
prospective champions from the start of the season. However, ANY
league championship is built on sustained form throughout the season.
Arsenal did not do that. At times they were incapable of winning games
against ordinary teams. They also found it especially difficult
against the "cuter" teams in the champions league. Results do not lie.

If teams are to be judged by "perceived ability", what would be the
point of any tournament ? Brazil played fantastic football in the 1982
world cup, but were beaten by an (all round) better team (Italy).

Arsene Wenger and Patrick Viera are obviously dissapointed at losing
out on the league championship. However, they are also displaying a
lot of arrogance. It is not surprising, given the comments Wenger has
been making all season. If you choose to "make your bed" by making
such bold statements, you have to sleep in it afterwards. Period.
Don't make yourself look silly by quoting a bunch of "ifs".

It is a shame, because Arsenal ARE a good team. Unfortunalely, reality
and sportsmanship do not come easily to them. This is the first time I
have ever heard of a team claiming to be the best team in the country
after not winning the championship.

Yes, best team in London.

Which excuse did you give? Man United have more money? His players were
tired, was it the officials? Or maybe the World Cup or confederations
cup?

No, complete Arse as usual. He is aptly named.

What is this ? Has everyone got the Iraqi Information Minister
rhetoric syndrome ?? aka. "Do not worry. The title is ours". Wake up
!! You guys lost the title 'cause I saw Man Utd celebrating with the
trophy last Sunday. Stop listening to Arsene Wenger and look at the
league table. Sometimes you win, and sometimes you lose. DEAL WITH IT.

Comedy of the highest shelf eh??

But be serious for a moment, you don't win the trophy, 38 games, by
having the most skillful side, you win it by having a balanced team,
by having a system that best suits the players at your disposal
(manager's decision). Arsenal were second best, and that's final.
This protestation also needs to stop from their players and the
manager himself, otherwise, we might have the Gunners as the most
detested team in the country, and not Man United.

Arsenal should have won. They lost because their central defence got
injured and the cover they had was grossly inadequate. They lost
because Pires and Ljungberg didn't provide the scoring backup to Henry
as they did last season. They lost because once Viera wasn't on the
pitch Arsene wasn't able sufficiantly drive his players to victory.
They lost because Man Utd played fantasticly for the final stretch.
Arsenal hammered teams like City at the start of the season, but Utd
did it to teams like Liverpool and Newcastle when it counted. Those
are facts.

What's also a fact is that no matter how superior you believe yourself
to be, when you lose at something, and then declare yourself the
wonner anyway, you're going to look very bad. Look at Fergie last year
for God's sake, even he admitted Arsenal were the better side. He
mightn't have believed it, but even he wouldn't have put up with the
derision that would have followed had he declared Manchester
superiority.
