ZAGREB, Jan 18 (AFP) -
Disgruntled Croatia and West Ham defender Igor Stimac said he will no longer
play for the Croatian national team, Sportske novosti daily reported
Thursday.
The 33-year-old English Premiership player, who is currently recovering from
a leg injury, said he is "fed up of media attacks on the squad and players
who have done so much good for Croatian football and the country".
He was referring to a controversial petition by the Croatian squad, led by
former coach Miroslav Blazevic last October, which supported Croatian views
about the Croat-Serbian war in 1991-95.
