Finally after a 13 game drought.

13, that's right, 13, after 13 games since the Euro 2004 game Vs
Croatia mighty Wayne Roney has finally scored a goal for England, all
disbelievers bow down before the mightiest striker in the universe and
surrounding suburbs.

Watch out Marco Van Basten.

Said it before, saying it again Defoe and Owen are England's best
strikers.

Good for Rooney that England's soccer afficionados mostly read the Sun
and News of the World and get fed the Rooney hype and actually believe
it.

While Wayne Rooney might not be a "savior" of English football, he's a
very talented young striker none-the-less. He's only going to get
better as well. He'll be in England's starting XI up front, for years
to come I believe. Why do you have such disdain for him and most other
English players, Andre' ? That's an actual question, I'm not trying to
do any baiting or anything here. Is it solely for members of this
group?

If you do not consider Rooney a footballer's footballer then you have no
clue about the game
The only other-then-Englabd national team where he might not be a
starter is Brazil.

Ah finally sdomebody tell it right? MOST not all.

Because they are technically weak, tactically they are awfull and
always compensate for these shortcomings with ophysical vigor, elbows,
fouls etc.

I like Defoe, Owen, Joe Cole, SWP, Milner and some others.

Funny thing is Benny agrees with me but doesn't have the guts to admit
it. He claims Ballack is much better than Gerrard but when I say the
same thing he insults me because he's afraid to say what he thinks.

Score many goals and progressed a quite bit in the last 15 months has
he?

Could have swore he's stagnated.

He has inate athletic abiltiy such as his uncommon strength, explosive
sprints, good stamina despite being overweight, good balance (not
surprised with that low centre of gravity) but all of these are
athletic strenghts not something he'd have to learn on a football
pitch.

The most basic of footballing fundamentals is lacking in Rooney; BALL
CONTROL, his ball receptions are mediocre, when he tries do dribble it
he often loses control of it, when running to the line to cross he
often rushes it and loses it.

When dropping to midfield and trying to man mark anybody we see just
how poor Rooney is at reading the opponent, he tries to anticipate the
move but often shifts his bodyweight to the wrong leg to try to cut off
the opponent and when he missread's the play often gets outsmarted.

Creativity? Rooney has very little creativity, his game is predictable
and linear and if it wasn't for the speed he has he'd be timed
perfectly by average defenders, once again getting by on being a great
athlete rather than a player.

His ability to cross the ball? He isn't a winger and it shows, his
ability to cross his appalling. His heading is also very poor, and
there are plenty of players his height with better heading.

His positioning is as poor as his ability to read the game, a world
class striker has to be able to read the midfielder's game and know
where he needs to position himself for accurate ball reception.

And on and on and on.

Well, everyone's got their own opinion.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I believe you stated once that you are a
partial supporter of Chelsea, not only for their manager, but for the
Portugese nationals. I find myself cheering for them as well because of
these reasons. Why don't you like Frank Lampard or John Terry? That's
my two absolute favorite English players at the moment. I'm a huge
Lampard fan.

Well, that's between you two.

Because they're English.

I kill-filed him long ago. As for Ballack given he made my World Class
list and Gerrard didn't what I think of him is obvious.

He hasn't improved at all since Euro 2004.

Because he gets praise from the media that he doesn't deserve but the
media has decided too wrap the flag of St George around him and feed
him to the fools.

Frankly I love it, I love seeing fools building their hopes and dreams
around this guy only to take a bucket ofice cold water whenever the
they meet any solid opposition.

Indeed but it's a passing fancy much like bedding a girl you've met at
a Green Day concert.

I never said I didn't like him, in fact I've praised Terry for his
substancial improvement since Mourinho's arrival, having said that I
prefer other centre-backs and ofensive centre midfielders to those 2,
what's wrong with that?

Lampard is a classic English attacking centre midfielder not much
different from Paul Scholes, I prefer a more classic No10 like Rui
Costa or Pablo Aimar or even a 9 1/2 like Del Pierro, Roberto Baggio or
Totti.

 That's

Just make you sure you don't go to the same barber as he does.

As for Benny, leave him be, he still hasn't recovered from the time he
suggested Rooney was already better than Zidane at his peak.

More English than you'll ever live to be.

Yes, it is obvious, it's obvious you agree with me and I have no
