9/11 Portland moves within 1.5 games of Anaheim for the 8th and final
playoff spot with their 8-6 victory at the Pond...
9/12 Houston becomes the second team to clinch a playoff spot (and
snaps a 3-game losing streak) with a 10-1 victory over Washington,
who was without several key players including Denison Cabral and
Brett Phillips... San Diego clinches a playoff spot and increases
its division lead to 1.5 games over Sacramento (13-12)... Seattle
(9-16) hands Portland (10-15) a costly loss... Anaheim (12-12)
breaks slump in a big way, snapping Detroit's streak of 10
consecutive 1-goal games and wins the series with Detroit...
9/13 Dallas clinched a playoff berth and moved within 1 game of
Monterrey, whose 5-game winning streak was snapped
with a trilling 8-7 victory... San Diego (15-10)
increased its division lead to 2 games over Sacramento (magic
number to clinch just 2) with a 9-4 victory over Detroit (11-13),
who went 0-2 on their West Coast swing...
9/14 Monterrey (16-9) foils Washington's (12-13) attempt to become
the fifth team to make the playoffs with a 4-3 victory... Houston
(16-9) keeps pace with Monterrey with a 6-5 victory over Dallas
(14-11), who is now 2 games back of first place in the East.
