Denilson..best midfielder?

Brazilian 21 years old sensation Denilson, the most expensive player in
the world with him moving from Sao Paulo to Real Madrid ($34M US). I haven't
seen him play, so here's the question..how good is he and what great past
superstar can he be compared to?

He's actually moving to Real Betis (from Seville, Spain) not Real
Madrid. To be perfectly honest I haven't seen him play very much, but I
can't wait to see how he performs in Spain next season.

Denilson is perhaps the most talented midfielder, but probably
not the best.  His finishing leaves a lot to be desired and he is
hopelessly left-footed.  However, he is extremely quick and has a
tremendous ability to blow by defenders.  Great dribbler, decent
passer and can also play on the wing.  I really can't think of
any player in the past to compare him to, though.

Maybe Roberto Rivelino, but it takes a long stretch to compare them.

Try Lampinho.

Since Marcelo's Lampinho and Cagao might be leaving
the whole RSS out of the paty, let me clue them in:

No, try the American Midfield star John Fartman,
or the great Bob Poopme! :-))

Cheers!

Marcelo, Lampinho is dead -- you are so ignorant.  His true name
is Lampiao.  He was killed by the police along with his wife
"Maria Bonita".  Really a tragic story turned into a Northeast
folk legend.

But actually, according to Irineu, Denilson plays like a Cagao
quite frequently for Sao Paulo.  Maybe that's because the team is
so full of Cagoes.
