USISL Atlantic Division summary 5/27-29

'Birds Split Visit

The Silicon Valley Firebirds came to the Atlantic Division this weekend and
flew away with a win and a loss.  The win came on Friday night over the Raleigh
Flyers 2-1 in overtime in front of 1,032.  Rob Ukrop scored for Raleigh and
Justin Wall for the Firebirds in regulation, and Taras Zubrycky got the
game-winner for Silicon Valley in overtime.  The loss came on Saturday to the
Greensboro Dynamo, 4-1.  Patrick Hefti scored two goals for Greensboro and Joey
Valenti and Carlos Garcia added one each for the win.  Rick Iverson got the
lone Firebird goal.  The Raleigh Flyers earned a weekend split with a 2-0 win
over the C***te Eagles in front of 1,175 Flyer fans on Saturday night.  Rob
Ukrop got both goals for the Flyers in the win.  The Eagles were also 2-1
victims of the Hampton Roads Hurricanes on Friday night.  Mark Waite got both
Hurricanes goals, while Keith Dakin scored for C***te.  Hampton Roads lost
the weekend sweep with a 1-0 loss to the Washington Mustangs on Sunday.  Leonel
Suazo scored the only goal of the game to give the Mustangs the win.  In other
Atlantic action, the Charleston Battery defeated the Baltimore Bays 1-0 on a
goal from Paul Young in overtime.  The Columbia Heat beat the Richmond Kickers
2-1 in front of 1,826 in Richmond.
