OK, Giovanni, I'm Italian and very proud of that 82 team...but let's play
a little game:

WHICH IS THE BETTER TEAM???????????????

TEAM 1                  TEAM 2

Li Chang Myong         Albertosi
Lim Yung Song          Landini
Sin Yong Gyu           Facchetti (finished 2nd Euro Player of Year- 1965)
Ha Jong Won            Guarneri
O Yun Gyong            Janich
Pak Sung Jin           Fogli
Im Song Hui            Perani
Han Bong Jin           Bulgarelli
Pak Doo Ik             Mazzola (finished 2nd Euro Player of Year - 1971)
Kim Bong Hwan          Rivera (Euro POY 1969; finished 2nd 1963)
Yang Song Guk          Barison

If in soccer the best team ALWAYS won, I wouldn't waste my time
watching the sport.  Think a bit before you write nonsense.
And, by the way, the 1978 Italian World Cup team was a better team than
the 1982 version. Or are you going to tell me that Graziani was better
than Bettega??

Cheers,
Loris

Are these the lineups of the 1966 North Korea-Italy match?

In 1966, North Korea beat Italy. Italy had the better PLAYERS, but
they were so***y and overconfident they they could not play well as
a team. A team can be formed of all-stars and STILL LOSE. It all depends
on how well the team competes, on how they can work together. A clasic
example is the one you gave me right here: Italy had the better players,
but lost. North Korea was a better team on that day.

Football is a TEAM sport--where would Pele have been without
 Carlos Alberto, Jerzinho(sp?), Jerson?
Plus, Bettega and Graziani played diiferent positions, that is not
 a valid argument.
The 1978 Italian team was very talented, but inexperienced. It "choked"
It could not compete well. (Remember the difference between "playing
well" and "competing). It lost.--No comparison with the 1982 team.
Maybe, the players weren't as talented as other players (I DON"T REALLY
THINK SO, I'M JUST PUTTING IT DOWN FOR ARGUMENTS SAKE), but they were the
best TEAM in 1982, and pehaps ,IMHO, one of the best teams ever.

I thought the '78 team played a much more attractive style of football than the
'82 team. They were by far the best team of the first round in '78 but weren't
able to sustain it in the latter rounds. Bettega was great. The '82 team seemed
to get better as the Cup went on. IMHO.
