Is their a lumbus v LA rivalry I dont know about?  Or does the author
just like saying lumbus?

So as everyone suspected the Penguins are in the process of building a
team to win the cup this season, or as the author puts it " acquire
every NHL player".  I dont see the Snores doing anything (but i just
like saying Snores as it is so appropriate for a town like Ottawa)
thought they might trade a goalie for someone good?  The Hawks got a
face off guy, which for the team that already has everything is a good
move come play off time.

the web page author guy, kind of alluded to it, but I am surprised,
the richest team in the league ( Maple Leafs)  did not try and
strengthen a team that may make the play offs for the first time since
goalies wore masks?  a bit surprised the oil rich Alberta teams did
not try to make more moves to try and make the play offs, or maybe
they have already given up?

The word on the street here, or should I say on the snowmobile track,
is that these will be the best play offs since back in the original 6
days, what with the shorten season and hungrier players?

Yes, but I don't think the Penguins would have acquired Jokinen today if not
for Crosby's unfortunate jaw injury.

Jokinen is experienced and versatile, with good faceoff numbers. The Pens
were an abysmal 4/20 in offensive zone faceoffs against the Sabres yesterday
night, with third-line winger Tyler Kennedy filling in for Sid at the number
one line center, so I think this is why Ray Shero felt it was worth it to
make another move? Jokinen is a winger, but I understand he can play center
as well?

And, after Crosby is back, Jokinen will probably be able to contribute well
in another capacity (not to mention other possible injuries, depth is
depth).

The bad side of this move is that Jokinen is signed through 2013-2014, and
his 3M salary figures to be an [unexpected] issue for the team to deal with
in the postseason, as they face some unrestricted free agent decisions.
Especially with the cap coming down by about 6M.

Does anyone get the Leafs?

Calgary have just started their rebuilding process for real now, being
clearly sellers at this deadline. I don't think they had any other choice
really, and I hope they make good use of the several draft picks they
acquired and come back soon.

As for Edmonton, I believe they are quite ahead in their rebuilding? In
fact, looking at the standings, they have a real chance of making the
playoffs this year. I don't follow them closely, but I know they have some
good young players coming through. What I don't know is how solid of a team
they are at this point. Do they have veteran leadership to mix and balance
with the young players? Do they have clear voids to fill at some positions?
