MILAN, Nov 12 (AFP) -
Inter Milan, meanwhile, had a day to forget,
losing 1-0 to 10-man Lecce at the San Siro.
Inter should have taken an early lead when they were
awarded a penalty but French veteran defender
Laurent Blanc's spot kick was saved by Lecce
goalkeeper Antonio Chimenti who correctly dived to his left.
And Inter were made to pay for that blunder when
Croatian Davor Vugrinec gave Lecce the lead after 20 minutes.
After half an hour Lecce's Alberto Malusci was red
carded for a professional foul but Lecce fought off
an hour-long onslaught from the home team.
Inter coach Marco Tardelli said: "It's never good
to lose but Lecce did very well, their defence was very solid."
His Lecce counterpart Alberto Cavasin said: "There
were so many positive things - we defended a lot
of calmness, we did not take any silly risks."
