Philadelphia, Long Island, Sweep Two

The Long Island Rough Riders helped themselves this weekend with two big wins.
The first came in Connecticut, 1-0 over the Wolves in overtime.  1,057 Wolves
fans were disappointed as James Rooney got the winner for the Rough Riders in
overtime.  On Sunday, the Riders hosted the Cape Cod Crusaders in front of
3,150 fans.  Two goals from Giovani Savarese and one from Christopher Armas
made the difference as Long Island won 3-2.  Gary Crompton and Ron Murphy got
the goals for the Crusaders.  The Philadelphia Freedom swept weekend play with
wins over the New York Fever and Baltimore Bays.  On Friday, it was the Freedom
3-0 over Baltimore with Steve Wink, Steve Thomas and Justin Ceccarelli getting
Freedom goals.  Saturday saw Neil Smart, Rich Graham and Steve Thomas score
goals for Philadelphia in a 3-1 victory over the New York Fever.  Mickey Kydes
got the lone New York goal.  The North Jersey Imperials won the battle for New
Jersey over the Jersey Dragons this weekend on a lone goal from Imperial
midfielder Andy Williams late in the game.  In other Northeast action, 3,100
Wizard watchers saw the Boston Storm win their first game of the season over
the Delaware Wizards 2-1 in overtime.  Chris Morgan scored for the Wizards,
while Roland Joseph rounded out the scoring in regulation with a goal for
Boston.  In overtime, Joe DeBrito was the hero for the Storm with the win.
