What a surprise! ESPN disses soccer again!

What a surprise! ESPN disses soccer again!

Plaudits to espn2 and ESPN for scheduling to show live all three games of
the Final four of the Women's College Cup this weekend.

But, true to the past disappointments, I found out by watching Worldwide
Soccer this week that the Men's College Cup will NOT have all games shown
live.  The first semi-final will be live at 4:00 PM next Friday, Dec. 10.
However, the second semi-final will be on a six-hour tape delay at 12:30
AM.

One might figure that something really important would be scheduled to be
on in place of the second semi-final.  Sure enough, there is....the
*CLASSIC* college basketball match-up between ACC also-ran ***ia and
MEAC also-ran Hampton University at 6:00 PM. </sarcasm>

Of course, there's the NFL 2Night and MFL Matchup hour at 8:00 PM that one
could probably catch at one of its repeats throughout the weekend.

All this *AHEAD* of the national semi-final in men's college soccer!!  UGH!!

If Indiana triumphs over Penn State this Sunday, and gets placed in the
second semi-final, I know I'll have a very difficult time *NOT* finding
out the score of the match before the tape-delay.  I imagine fans of any
other team that gets placed in the second semi-final will have a similar
dilemma.

So, where's the ESPN e-mail adress to  write??  I seem to have lost it
after I reamed them proper after they pre-empted the Women's World Cup
quarterfinal betwenn Brazil and Nigeria with NASCAR *qualifying*!  And, I
can't seem to find an address to write on their website.  How convenient.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Both women's semis are being shown on ONE-DAY DELAY, not live.
espn2 has to keep its lucrative Friday Night Boxing in place.

Note that ESPN chose NOT to offer the men's and women's semis
via pay-per-view on ESPN's new soccer-centric
pay-per-view channel ESPN Extra.

If enough people make noise about the college semis, then look
for ESPN to make a deal to offer the college semis on ESPN Extra
next season.  Of course you'll have to pay $9.99 to watch
the doubleheader.

Remember that pay-per-view is now the #1 choice for ESPN when
it comes to soccer products with marginal interest to the US audience.

ESPN Extra has been launched, and judging by the interest shown
by immigrants, ESPN will keep ESPN Extra around for a long time
in order to rake in serious money.  There are people who would
have no hesitation paying $9.99 to watch his/her team play on TV.
