Man City vs. Norwich City

City missed a chance to effectively secure their Premiership survival
with a 1-1 draw against Norwich. The single point still helps though,
and with teams like Ipswich and Spurs now slipping into deep trouble,
it's very unlikely that City will go down.

After three successive wins, the City faithful were expecting more of
the same. Unfortunately, the game didn't really live up to the
standard set in the last couple of displays, although there were
occasional periods of nice football. After early pressure from City,
Norwich took the lead with quarter of an hour gone when Ullathorne
struck from the edge of the box. The Blues equalised at the beginning
of the second half with a near post finish from Rosler. The Blues
would have taken all three points but for a tremendous display by
Bryan Gunn, the Scottish keeper making a wonderful double save in the
first half, then denying Rosler in the closing seconds.

City are currently sitting four places above the danger zone and
another win would certainly ensure that they stay up. That may not be
necessary depending on other results. Several of the bottom clubs
still have to play one another which should mean that someone will
stay below the Blues. Having said that, a win at Old Trafford next
Saturday would be well received by the fans. Utd seem to be wobbling
slightly, and this could be a good time for City to win one over their
rivals and finally win a Sky televised match! Ian Brightwell is
currently having treatment in an oxygen machine in an attempt to get
him fit for the game. He's been a great influence in his recent
appearances, and would be a welcome return.
