Llanelli 28 - Northampton 31

Llanelli lack of fitness and ill-discipline showed in the last 20 minutes
and cost them the match.
Both sides at times were scrappy with little flair.  Having seen both games
it looks as if Munster will win the final (and i certainly hope so!)

Strange about the lack of fitness comment. Byron Hayward left for Gloucester
and said that English clubs had better fitness than the Welsh clubs, apart
from Llanelli who he considered the fittest side in the UK. Peter Herbert is
known to be particularly tough on that front - as I hope we'll see after he
takes over the Wales job.

I think it's just become a bit of a cliche. Whenever a team loses a lead in
the second half it's put down to fatigue, they didn't have the legs to last
the match etc. I think it's sometimes true but not always.

It seemed to show on llanelli hitting the passes much slower or static the
last 10 minutes.  Cant recall exact person but he sort of walked into a gap
as opposed to ran and was promptly tackled.  Ditto with the attack on
Northamptons line towards the end, same repeat slow tactics, never threw
ball wide (although you could blame moon for lack of vision there).
Northampton were still running, llanelli walking last 5 mins.  I think extra
time would have won it for northampton but by that time ***yer was
obviously bored and wanted a shower.
