Umaga's

Do any of the experts on NZ players know if Tana Umaga has a relative
called Mike Umaga who plays for the RL team Halifax Redsox (or is it
Blue sox) in England?
On the few occasions that I watch RL, I've noticed that they both look
alike and have the same haistyle.

Isn't Umaga Va'iga Tuigamala's cousin?  Or something?  Or are
they like New Zealanders and all related to each other?  ;-)
("That ref is a ***er!"  "Don't talk like that about your
        uncle..."  "Wh'aaa?")

BTW, when is JB due back with 'Alifax then?

yes, Mike is actually Tana's older brother, Mike played fullback for
Western Samoa in the last WC at Union and then switched to league, Tana
used to play Rugby League for New Zealand under 19 and 16 team, then
decided to switch to union, it was Mike who perseuaded Tana to stay in
union and try for the ABs.

Thanks for the information. I thought the similarity was more than
coincidence. What threw me was the commentators kept referring to Mike
Umaga as a Samoan so this didn't tie in with Tana who of course as we
all know plays for the AB's.

They have Samoan forebears though born in New Zealand.

I wont mention a bleedin word about Tana's Samoan ancestors again if
that will make all the AB supporters happy!
