Clubs Announce Strong Teams

Leicester Tigers and Munster have both announced strong lineups for
Friday evening's "clash of the Champions" at Welford Road (kick off
7.45pm). Munster, the reigning Irish Interprovincial champions are on
their first visit to Leicester and are looking forward to taking on
the Allied Dunbar Premiership champions on their home patch.

Munster team manager Brian O'Brien said: "We are taking the game very
seriously and can report that we have no injury doubts following our
two day training camp in preparation for the match."

Munster, who filled the vacant date in Tigers calendar created when
Bristol qualified for the Tetley's Bitter Cup semi-final, are using
the game as a stern test in advance of their European Cup
quarter-final clash against Stade Francais in Limerick next weekend.

The Munster team includes eleven full internationals and is seen as
their strongest possible lineup. The side is led by British Lion
second row Mick Galwey and features the complete current Irish front
row Messrs Clohessy, Wood and Hayes, plus the current young
half-back pairing of O'Gara and Stringer.

Leicester on the other hand have named their strongest available
lineup, including skipper Martin Johnson and seven other
internationals.

Dean Richards, Tigers director of rugby said: "This is a serious match
that we sorely need to focus our minds on our tough run-in to the end
of the season. Munster are a star studded side and will test our boys
to a level at which we will need to perform for the rest of the season
if we are to remain contenders for the Premiership crown."

Tigers have introduced a special ticket offer for this fixture:

Existing season ticket holders can purchase tickets for 5 with their
own seats reserved until an hour before kick-off.

The price for non season ticket holders will be 10. Tigers are also
offering a special " Kids for a quid" deal for children under 16
accompanied by an ***.

Rather than bemoan the kick-off time, or the fact that Leicester is
practically antipodean w.r.t.Glasgow-

Is this match to be shown live on Sky? It should be quite an encounter....
