WS has made an enormously good start at Northampton.

Hard to say. My opinion of Mitchell is dropping game by game. Now he
even has his players talking about the loss to England like it was
some sort fo achievement.

I think Smith blew his chance by getting the heebie jeebies, but
Mitchell is hardly covering himself in glory

Developing players aside, claiming a m***victory doesn't achieve anything
but distract ppl's attention from his poor use of the bench, and sometimes
limited gameplan.

Being happy with the coaching because Deans is there is also quite naive in
that it should be the Head Coach stamping his authority on the way the team
operates. The AB forward pack under Mitchell so far (including the Canty
pack) have hardly dominated each team, including Aus and SA. I am surprised
people aren't making more noise about this as when Mitchell came in, it
seemed to be motivated by the belief he could turn our forwards into a pack
feared the world over.

We have hardly seen this, and you can't say the pack under Mitchell has
delivered any more precision, aggression or accuracy than the forward pack
under Smith. The only difference so far between the two is that we have won
the 3N, and ***ed many new players creating a base for next year's WC.

It would be fair to say that Mitchell has not put daylight between himself
and the previous AB coach. If ppl are convinced he is the Messiah of NZ
coaches, then so be it... I remain to be convinced just yet.

What, bring back a loser? How about somebody who's won something
decent, like a series in South Africa?

Yes, and also preferably NOT responsible for the worst season in All
Black history.

No, and if there's something to learn from England, it may be this:
look how long Woodward has been around.  No chopping and chaning every
year or two.  He's been given time to bed in a team and develop it.

I saw no mention of Wilkinson's opinion.
