1.  Colin Hawke's mistakes made a mockery of such an important game.

2.  Can someone please explain to me the problem with the Welsh lineout.
What is that is going wrong? Is it the throwing in? Is it the
jumping/lifting? Every other team in the world cup manage to win their own
throw ins.

1) hawke referees erratically- he is FULL of shit- an awful ref.

2) eales and giffin contested very well- I don't think gareth jenkins'
throwing was terrible- the aussies were just very good in the lineouts- I
mean with someone like eales, you can never be too sure where trhe ball will
go.

3) I'd also like to mention how awfully biased and ***ed-up the channel
seven commentary was. how the *** can you put a bunch of condescending,
jingoistic ***s like them behind the microphone? they exudued arrogance
throughout the game.

Is almost Universal. I started watching the english game fairly
neutral, but leaning towards the boks very slightly. After 10 minutes
of SA commentary I was almost 100% behind England, just so I could
listen to the commentary team have to deal with their side losing.

LOL ..like I said..Universal. I don;t find NZ commentary to bad, inane
but not too bad and they do try to be vaguely neutral,. I have heard
them correct themselves when they get to jingoistic. But I'm a kiwi.
I'm sure anyone else listening would be just as annoyed as I am by the
SA/Aus and Eng commentators

Don't think this will beat the Welsh commentators on S4C (the Welsh language
channel in Wales). Back in the old days they had no illusions of trying to
be neutral - what was the point, the only people watching were Welsh.  I
remember one charge towards the line (many moons ago) by a Welsh player,
which brought the commentry 'Run you bug**r' - except in Welsh of course.
Sadly I now live in england and get John ***y taylor etc mutter mutter
mutter.

If I wanted to hear the patter of tiny feet, I'd buy my cat boots.

I remember Ray Gravell when Ieuan Evans scored the winning try for LLanelli
against Australia "Huw! I could kiss you".
The thing is - Ray is so loveable you don't care. The guy hasn't an ounce of
malice in his body. He loves the team - he loves the opposition - he loves
the ref and especially loves any little kids in the crowd that the camera
focusses on.

When I lived in Natal in the early 90's I got most confused when the
commentary changed from English to Afrikaans at 1/2 time !! I was trying to
come to grips with the prospect of watching without understanding the
commentary for the 2nd 40, when my girlfriend suggested I switch channels to
MNET - and behold the commentary was in English!! I think I have just
reminded myself once again why I married her!!

Cheers, Matt
