The Auck's this weekend ..

Being a current sufferer of 'Downed Dictator Syndrome', I'm worried about
having to deal with this weekend's match between the Auck's & Otago.

Seriously though, reading Pivac's comments after the last Auck loss he seems
like a coach that will not have his team spit the dummy that easily, but
we've yet to see. The brain is saying that the Auck's might get up and take
the top spot back. If not then they will have to start thinking about a semi
in the South Island. Otago at the brook is always a big assignment.

And the Aucks have yet to face the Waikato ...

Roger.

Heh, Heh...I had totally discounted Otago, but if there's one thing better
than seeing the Dorklanders beaten by Canterbury, it's seeing them beaten
three weeks in a row.

I hope it is a tough game at Carisbrook, because it is a certainty that
Waikato (Shield Holders, '99 Champs) will crush Auckland at Eden Park.

Hell, I was happy that the Cantabs and the Mooloo men were going to beat the
Dorklanders but now Otago look to be a chance. Looks like I'll be looking
for something blue and gold to wear!!

As for Wellington's challenge on Saturday...It must have been a while since
the Lions have had a hundred posted against them...

Mooloo Ole, Ole, Ole, Mooloo Ole!

must be nice to live in a fantasy world.. 100 against Wellington
huh .. hope you bet that way too ! , as for Auckland, Canterbury were lucky
enough to beat them as it turns out.. Otago have been quite a lucky team
thus far, but it will run out against Auckland.. nice stepping stone for
Auck on the way to walking over Waikato !

Somehow I don't think Otago have what it takes to win this one.  Last year
they lost to a rather average Auckland side at Eden Park with a side
containing their All Blacks (I remember Kronfeld had an absolute
shocker).  Auckland have been their bogey team for a few years now in both
the S12 and NPC,  and if things go as they have in the past,  Auckland
would come out comfortable winners.

This will be an interesting matchup,  as IMO it will decide who finishes
first or second.  Canterbury still have to play Harbour and Otago,  and
either of these teams could upset.  Otago are staring at three possible
losses,  as they play the top three teams in three weeks starting with
Auckland,  then Canterbury then finally their Ranfurly Shield challenge
against Waikato.  Three losses would see them slide as far back as 5th or
6th before the end of the round robin.

Funny Euan, we were at that game weren't we?  Kronfeld dropped one ball from
a difficult pass.  Kronfeld had a very good game that day.  It was Maka's
white line fever that was a turning point.

Unfortuneatly, this may be the truth.

Nope.  Won't happen.  One more win which we will get and we will be either
4th for 5th.

As for the Mooloos, their forwards haven't played well as a unit all season
and eventually if they don't get it together, someone is going to upset
them.  Funny how it works eh.  Last years team had a superior forward pack
but was clearly second best.  This year, their forwards aren't as good and
they are possibly the best team in the NPC right now.

I'm sorry Tony but you were right.  I remember that Kronfeld looked like
the only one that was trying,  all the rest were in cruise mode.  The
front row were terrible,  Kelleher was ordinary,  Brown got done over by
Spenser and never really got back into the game.  Randell was invisible.
I remember Mark Carter had a very strong game,  but he was continually
getting beaten to the ball by Kronfeld until Kronfeld went off.

Well,  we'll see about that on Saturday won't we?

Thanks for putting all of that into perspective.  I'm never going to watch
Otago again at Eden Park until they win there.

Could be another holy grail.
