Thoughts on New Zealand

I have said it once in this group, and I will say it again.

Tactics... NZ have none.

Besides that however, the pattern of selection has deteriorated to an
abysmal level.

Drop

M. Jones
Brooke
W. Little
Carter

These guys just don't cut it.

Strip the captaincy off Taine, he hasn't got it and it's affecting his game.

Promote Mehrtens or Ian Jones to Captain. (Or C and VC)

Bring back Ralph and give him a decent run, or put Vidiri in at outside
centre. at the very worst put spencer there.

Convince Mehrts that passing is better than kicking.

Then all you guys have to do is think about what you're gonna do with the
football.

As for Hart, is this the man you want running your RWC campaing?

Maybe, but the Spencer/Mehrtens thing was a major***up.

Oh well, just thoughts.

Mainly thoughts I agree, or at least have sympathy, with.  But
disappointing though Randell has been, I couldn't see Jones or
Mehrtens as viable replacements.  Jones' first-class captaincy
experiences haven't been inspiring and he's probably close to his
use-by date as a player.  Mehrtens doesn't seem to have the
slightly-aloof personality generally associated with successful
leaders.  Even if he did, he's playing like he's already got the
weight of the world on his shoulders, so giving him the captaincy as
well would almost certainly make things worse.

Wrong.
The tactics were well executed.
Dont win ball at breakdowns, mill around like headless
chickens, run across the filed and not up it, and kick
away any possession.
