SCHUMACHER: TIME AND TIME AGAIN.

Post by Cz » Wed, 01 Apr 1998 04:00:00

Since the beginning of Michael's career, no matter what car he drives, he
puts it on the podium.
The same can NOT be said of Jacques, Mika, Damon nor any other active
driver...  could the same be said of Ayrton Senna?  Like him or not, he is
as good as they come.

Anyone find out why Wurz almost drove off the track on his pit exit??

Not the Jordan he didn't..

With the exception of the single Jordan drive at Spa,  MS has never
driven a backmarker car,  unlike all the others except JV - on whom
the jury is still (IMHO) out..

Cold tyres + too much enthusiasm?

Well, that does it!!  MS is good, but there's no way he can fit a car on the
podium, there's just not enough room...

You can not be seriously saying that Schumacher did not overachieve in the
Jordan?

No and hewas not saying that Schumacher used the Jordan to solve the
wonders of the univers either.  he was simply stating that Schumacher
did not put the Jordan on the podium - did you actually read the
sentence he was replying to?

Back markers?  Funny I seem to remember Benetton winning before
Schumacher joined them and I've heard rumours that Ferarri used to win
races and championships before Schumacher joined them.

He certainly overstressed the clutch, if nothing else.

One of the amazing stats of Schumacher's career is that if he manages
to finish, it's always in the points.  There was only one race where
he finished outside of top 6.  Where and when was it ?

Thanks David,  you took the words right out of my mouth..  :-)
I think that Schu's performance in the Jordan at Spa was astonishing,
but I was just being my pedantic old self..  :-)

I don't remember him having even one finish outside of the points.  Did I
forget about one.

The only car Senna did not put on the podium is the Williams.  He got a
2nd place
finish in a Toleman in his first year in F1.

I don't like Schumacher but he is a talent that will be remembered long
after
JV and DH are forgotten.

I think it was Estoril 1992.

He had to make an extra stop after damaging the car with debries caused
of the spectacular Patrese-Berger accident.

He hardly had the opportunity. He qualified well and then lasted a couple of
hundred yards in the race (Spa 1991).
