Proves two things.
(A) the poll was compiled by someone with no sense of history.
(B) the poll was answered by people with no sense of history.
Where's Moss? Where's Stewart? Where's Clark? Where are all three Hills?
Both Villeneuves? Fittipaldi? Piquet <ack spit>? Even, God Forbid, "Our
Nige"?

Yeah, they gave Clark four more points for Qualifying, and he won (overall)
by a point....

They really had to work that one to come up with the results they wanted!

Not many of us old gits know how to use a computer.  Those of us that
do, have more taste than to visit ITV-F1.  Find me a poll conducted by
pigeon post that has the same result. ;o))

Let Forix sort it out for you:

      Ratios: 'Item' / GP started
      Wins
        Podiums
      Pole positions
        Front row
      Fastest laps
      Points
     47.06%
      68.63%
      56.86%
      94.12%
      45.10%
      5.44
     34.72%
      44.44%
      45.83%
      66.67%
      38.89%
      3.81
     25.47%
      49.69%
      40.37%
      54.04%
      11.80%
      3.81
     35.67%
      63.16%

Just let Forix sort it out for you:

Ratios: 'Item' / GP started

               Fangio Clark  Senna  Schum

Wins           47.06% 34.72% 25.47% 35.67%
Podiums        68.63% 44.44% 49.69% 63.16%
Pole positions 56.86% 45.83% 40.37% 26.90%
Front row      94.12% 66.67% 54.04% 46.20%
Fastest laps   45.10% 38.89% 11.80% 27.49%

So, this reads like follows:

Wins: Fangio, Schum
Podiums: Fangio, Schum
Poles: Fangio, Clark
Front Rows: Fangio, Clark
Fastest laps: Fangio, Clark

Also: these records were set at a time when the cars weren't even close
to the reliability and safety they have reached today. Just finishing
races back then was an accomplisment, and it's a blessing Fangio, Clark,
Stewart and all these guys even lived long enough to reach these
numbers.

It's a blessing Fangio had teammates who would give over their cars, when
Fangio broke his.

I don't know who is the best F1 driver ever, but Enzo Ferrari alwasys
said that Tazio Nuvolari was the greatest Grand Prix driver ever. He
maintained this opinion even after seeing drivers like Fangio, Clark,
and Stewart. He pointed to Nuvolari's amazing win at the 1935 German
GP as proof.  But I am sure if he was still alive today he would have
voted for Schumacher...NOT! <eg>
